How to secure your account in 7 steps?

Learn tips for navigating the Internet safely. With a few simple changes in your activities, you may be able to protect yourself from, for example, the risk of losing funds.

The Internet is a fantastic place, offering great opportunities to earn, gain knowledge, or promote our personal brand. Unfortunately, along with the great opportunities come dangers, which you need to protect yourself against properly. We have prepared a few tips to help you navigate the online space safely.

 

Firstly, a strong password

In this case, the principle of "strength in simplicity" does not apply at all. An effective password is long, contains upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters. We completely discourage passwords such as: 'password123', '1qaz2wsx' or 'qwerty'. Strong passwords will make your account immune to dictionary and brute force attacks. Remember that your passwords for all services should not be the same. If you have a really large number of accounts, you can use password storage software.

 

Enable two-factor authentication

You can use two methods of two-factor authentication on our exchange:

  • email,

  • Google Authenticator.

 

We always recommend using the latter option. Why? Because it is more secure – it will be much harder for an unauthorised person to access your phone thanyour email inbox. Here are instructions on how to enable this security feature.

You've probably encountered the SMS authentication method before. Why isn't it available on zondacrypto? Because of the risk of SIM-swapping, a method of overcoming this safeguard is needed.

 

Secure your email inbox

You can do this by following the previous points – a strong password, different from your passwords on other services and two-factor authentication. It is always a good idea to set up a mailbox on a service that offers additional security (such as phone login notifications).

 

Watch out for phishing

Is this the first time you have heard of phishing? Then read carefully: phishing is a method used by unauthorised people to get you to divulge personal information - passwords, bank account numbers, credit card numbers and more. They do this by sending fake emails, text messages and redirecting you to fake websites. Be on your guard because the best protection against phishing is your attention. Remember that no zondacrypto employee will ever ask you for your password!

 

Watch out for plugins and apps

The more plugins and apps you use, the less secure you will be. Above all, avoid using unknown applications from a source you do not know. Do you keep sensitive information on your computer? Keep the installation of applications and plugins to a minimum.

 

Use antivirus software

The job of an antivirus is to detect, prevent and remove malware. Why is it important to have an up-to-date antivirus? Because malicious applications are constantly evolving and with them the security features. Also remember to keep your operating system up to date.

 

Finally: don't hold funds on the exchange if you don't trade them
