Who is Leo Górski?
This talented Pole is a multi-time World Karting Champion of Great Britain and Italy in various age categories. Last Sunday at the Franciacorta circuit in Italy, Leo took second place in Round 1 of the WSK Series Karting Championship, considered the most important competition for young drivers. He regularly competes against the best worldwide, standing on the podium. Leo also took home the trophy for winning the Italian championship over the weekend. Just a week earlier, Leo was on the podium twice in Val Vibrata, taking third and first place.
What the road to Formula One looks like
Leo began his career at the age of just four. His father Filip Górski, who is connected with the world of sports, noticed his son's talent early on. He already knew he was dealing with unparalleled skills and decided to support young Leo's motorsport development.
Living in the UK, there they began official participation in competitions and won their first trophies. Over time, they moved to Spain looking for bigger challenges, eventually arriving in Italy – where almost all current F1 drivers began their careers. WSK is the same racing series where, a few years ago, Charles Leclerc (now Ferrari), Lando Norris (Red Bull) or Max Verstappen (McLaren) mastered their skills to jump to the academy of top car constructors then seamlessly.
Not surprisingly, Leo, who has been successful for several years, is closely watched by the major Formula One teams. The young Pole is the strength of his current Tony Kart team. Despite not having the most powerful engine, Leo's technical skills allow him to win against his rivals in races where victory is determined by fractions of seconds, driving precision, and reflex.
