The 16th edition of the European Economic Congress was held on 7-9 May 2024. This annual prestigious event creates a space for active discussions on the Polish economy and finances. This year's edition featured 180 thematic sessions with 1200 speakers.
One of the speakers was Karolina Gwóźdź, Chief Legal Officer of zondacrypto. Our representative took part in a panel on the future of finance, presenting the situation of cryptocurrencies on the Polish market. As she pointed out, cryptocurrencies are no longer just the future or science-fiction, but are an important part of the current financial ecosystem. The security of our exchange and its users is our priority. That is why we focus on making our services as easy as possible to use in a comfortable and intuitive way.
- zondacrypto has more than one million Polish customers. We are a fully licensed exchange. We hold a restrictive Estonian licence, but we are also licensed in Italy, Slovakia, Canada and are currently applying to operate in the UK. We are not only present in our home market, but we are also expanding into other markets where we are very positively received. In doing so, we are focusing on simplicity from the user's point of view, which is crucial given that the world of cryptocurrencies is perceived as complicated. Soon, the entire onboarding of a customer will be possible using only a mobile phone.’ Karolina Gwóźdź added in her statement.
Our representative also drew attention to the problematic dialogue with Polish legislators. In order for the credibility of the industry in Poland to match that of the rest of the world, we need to start talking about cryptocurrencies in the context of what they are used for – payments and innovation development. MiCA is the first step towards such a dialogue.
