Starting January 2026, zondacrypto will collect and aggregate information on your crypto transactions under DAC8. Learn how to stay compliant.
The EU's DAC8 directive, which requires crypto platforms to collect and report your Tax Identification Number (), is coming into effect on January 1, 2026. While the regulation affects all crypto platforms offering services to the EU residents, it doesn't require users to take any major steps at the moment.
As a result of the DAC8 implementation, from January 1, 2026, the platforms like zondacrypto will collect specific information about you and your crypto transactions to comply with this EU-wide directive and share it with the tax authorities operating in your country of residence.
Here you will find a more detailed breakdown of DAC8.
To help you prepare for the upcoming changes, here are the three main scenarios you may encounter while providing your tax residence information for DAC8:
For users whose is available on their ID (e.g., in Poland, where is the PESEL number), the process will be simple. During registration or while making your first deposit, you’ll be asked to provide your residential address and your (which is already listed on your ID).
For example:
Country: Poland
Residential Address: Dyrekcyjna 10/1, 02-495 Warsaw, Poland
PESEL: 21220627377
Simply enter your details and proceed as instructed on the platform. The system will guide you through the process to ensure your tax residence is recorded correctly.
In some countries, the taxpayer identification number is included on your ID. If you are from a country like e.g. Germany, you will need to manually provide your taxpayer identification number (Steuerliche Identifikationsnummer).
For users in this situation:
Country: Germany
Residential Address: Strasse 111, Hamburg, Germany
: Enter your Steuerliche Identifikationsnummer () here.
Ensure that all information is correct before submit, as the platform will use this data for DAC8 compliance. You can find information about your taxpayer identification number in the link provided by zondacrypto.
If you are a tax resident of more than one country, you will be required to provide the details of all your tax residencies. This is important for ensuring accurate report under DAC8, especially for individuals who have cross-border tax obligations.
For example:
Tax Residence 1:
Country: Poland
Residential Address: Dyrekcyjna 10/1, 02-495 Warsaw, Poland
(PESEL): 21220627377
Tax Residence 2:
Country: Germany
Residential Address: Strasse 111, Hamburg, Germany
: 12 345 678 901
Providing this information will help ensure that all of your tax residences are properly documented and reported.
zondacrypto is committed to making the compliance process as easy as possible for you.
Make sure your data is up-to-date and accurate to avoid any issues down the line. If you have any questions or need help with the process, please visit our dedicated DAC8 information page for more information or contact our support team (via email or via contact form).
