How to change 2FA to SMS Authentication?

SMS 2-factor authentication provides a significant security boost over Email 2-factor authentication by requiring the possession of a mobile device, which helps to prevent account takeovers from stolen email mailboxes and passwords alone.

To step-up in your account security and change the 2-factor authentication to SMS please follow the below steps:

  1. Enter your Account settings and go to the Security tab. Find a dedicated 2-Factor Authentication section and click on a toggle next to your masked phone number:

  2. You will see an informational popup sharing some important details about this process and our recommendations. Confirm the choice by clicking on Yes, change 2FA to phone number button:

  3. Confirm that the phone number associated with your zondacrypto account is still in your possession by entering the OTP code we have sent you via an SMS text message:

  4. Authorise the final change of the 2-factor authentication method to phone number with a standard 2-factor authentication method currently selected on your zondacrypto account (in this case it is Email 2-factor authentication:

  5. Success: your 2-factor authentication method has been changed to a phone number. Now each time you are asked to use 2-factor authentication at zondacrypto platform - we will generate and send a unique one-time password (OTP) code to your phone via a text message.
